Abstract

Patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS) is a common condition that involves pain of the patellofemoral joint. Based on current research available through multiple database searches a detailed literature review of physical therapy treatment intervention efficacy studies were summarized. A hypothetical primary study is being proposed to further exam the efficacy of strengthening of the leg musculature compared to stretching on the treatment of PFPS. Methods for a hypothetical primary study implementation were proposed to validate treatment efficacy. Results and conclusion of data findings were hypothetically concluded based on results of previous studies within the literature review performed.
