Abstract

Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which one's body attacks its own pancreas cells. Although the term "diabetes" is well known, the difference between type 1 and 2 is not well known. This presentation focuses on type 1 diabetes and the lack of knowledge with the new age management technology of the insulin pump in hospitals. Development of standards and protocol for patients with pump therapy and the disease: a conservation to address issues with patient safety for type 1 diabetics with insulin pump therapy is indicated in current nursing practice.
