This paper examines the importance of small group math instruction. Students learn differently, at their own paces, and from different strategies. This paper compares the difference in students’ achievement from whole and small group math instruction. Data was tested from multiple students with different academic levels in a first-grade classroom. The conclusion of this research is that small groups benefit student learning.
