Abstract

Covid 19 has arguably been a major contributing factor to the decline students' academics and mental health. Since the pandemic began, normalcy in schools has been almost nonexistent. Schools around the world have decided to implement a flex period into their curriculum as an attempt to improve students' academics and mental health. This research is going to dive deeper into the benefits of providing flexible downtime for students. An action research project will be conducted in the form of a Google form survey to discover students’ opinions regarding the program. The survey will discuss students’ interests and activities during the downtime, as well as whether they believe the flex period is useful for them. This study aims to determine whether implementing flex periods are successful in producing additional academic and emotional support for students.
