Papers will be evaluated on the quality of the thesis statement or creative concept, how completely, coherently or imaginatively ideas are developed, how well ideas are supported with research, how well the paper is written (i.e., free of mechanical errors and written in an accessible and learned style) and how professionally the concept is executed..

Poster Awards

For the best 2 posters, there will be gift card awards given by the Student Success Center. Other prizes will also be available for presenters who should stand by their posters during the assigned presentation time to answer questions from the judges. In the event that a poster is submitted by a team, the team members will share the gift certificate.

Trustees' Award

The Board of Trustees presents up to two awards each year to students who are currently enrolled at Shawnee State University and are participants in Celebration of Scholarship. The award is for outstanding research that is investigative, project-based, inquiry-based, open-minded and/or exploratory.

Library Research Award

The Clark Memorial Library will be sponsoring a $400 Research Award this year for the Celebration of Scholarship. The CML wants to recognize excellence in the research for a student paper or project presented during Celebration of Scholarship.
