Abstract

The main problem being addressed would be the amount of misconceptions students have about science and math before instruction. This action research will focus on the most effective way to find these misconceptions early and eliminate them as quickly as possible. The tools used to do this research are a two-tier diagnostic test as well as a KWL chart. These two methods of data collection will allow the data to be condensed and then properly integrated into the classroom curriculum to ensure that the found misconceptions are targeted early on in instruction.
