Abstract
A continuation in Microwave reactions involving Sonogashira coupling and bromobenzene from the previous semester. The reactions in the microwave reactor are compared to typical wet chemistry labs, through TLC, NMR, and percent yield calculations. The aim is to build larger molecules off of benzene rings and triple bonds by taking away the bromo- group and adding the reagent onto the bond. Using the TLC it is possible to see separation in products made using the long wavelength spectrum.
