Abstract

From natural and semi-synthetic opioids to heroin and fentanyl, the widespread use and abuse of opioids have been ongoing since the 1990’s. An area that has been greatly affected by the opioid epidemic is Portsmouth Ohio. This drug epidemic and healthcare crisis have created a stigma, one that the people of the city are challenged to escape. Through Federal and State aid and focused efforts, a community recovery is hopeful for Portsmouth.
