Abstract

Cannabis has been in studies regarding the benefits it may produce for both oral and other systemic diseases. Although it has been studied for several years, it is still undergoing tests and trials to see exactly how it works and if any issues may result. Throughout this research, examiners explain the great benefits that CBD (cannabidiol) can provide for better oral health and life in general. CBD is practical, safe, cost efficient, and can be found at almost any grocery store. Many people are seeking CBD to reduce stress during dental appointments, reducing gingival inflammation and bacterial biofilm, reducing the effects of periodontal disease, along with several other struggles our patients may face daily. Anxiety and stress effect a large percentage of the population and CBD is here to help people live a better life. Cannabidiol is even being studied to see how CBD therapy can be effective with treating tooth decay which is a huge breakthrough in the dental world and in natural medicine. CBD comes in many forms, so people can have different options for the way that they want to administer the CBD oil. It is important to know that CBD oil is not used to create a high and does not contain THC which is the chemical used to create a “high” in cannabis. CBD works by creating an effect on serotonin in the brain as well as brain receptors. This is a completely natural option and very beneficial in the treatment of patients with oral health concerns.
