Brief Biography
Van Allen Lemmon is a graduate of The Ohio State University’s Occupational Therapy Program. Throughout his 20-year career, Van has primarily worked in the school setting. In 2014, Van completed Bowling Green State University’s Assistive Technology Certificate Program. In 2017, he received a Master of Education in Special Education from BGSU. In addition to serving as the academic fieldwork coordinator for the University’s OTA program, Van is the proprietor of Central Ohio Assistive Technology, LLC.

Brief Abstract
Switch adapted activities enable children with severe physical disabilities to learn and play. This presentation will discuss assessment strategies for determining switch placement and the different types of switches (mechanical and electrical) available. Creative and cost-effective solutions will be examined, and equipment and related activities will be demonstrated to support participant learning.
