Abstract

Thromboembolism development is a serious condition associated with inactivity and pooling of blood in the lower extremities. The Registered Nurse (RN) assumes an important role in the prevention of thromboembolism development in patients through application of anti-embolism stockings. This poster will share scholarly inquiry regarding best practice recommendations related to anti-embolism stocking application and compare the recommendations with an anti-embolism stocking application procedure currently in practice.
