Abstract

For many educators, keeping students motivated is one of the biggest challenges they face in the classroom. When students lose motivation, they are left feeling disengaged and uneducated. As current studies show, when COVID-19 found itself into the classroom, students became less motivated to learn and complete schoolwork. Students had to quickly become accustomed to learning virtually in a non-school environment. This study is conducted in a high school English classroom that is using a hybrid of in-person and online learning. The purpose of this research is to identify aspects of student motivation in a classroom that is using a hybrid learning system. This information will be measured by testing students before and after using motivational tools such as educational games, creativity, and student rapport.
