Abstract
A recent increase of students completing their classwork online or remotely, has caused an associated decrease in students' grade averages in high school math classes. Since many educators are not familiar with implementing effective instructional strategies in an online environment, it is important for teachers and educators to understand the pros and cons that come along with the virtual environment. By comparing grade averages from previous years with the thoughts and feelings that students have towards online or remote learning, educators can adjust the instructional strategies they incorporate to improve the online experience their students are receiving. Since online learning is becoming the new normal for many students and teachers the advantages and disadvantages from this study need to be addressed in order to improve future online learning.
