Abstract

At the high school level, grammar instruction is often overlooked and even considered “controversial.” Though students may be expected to know the basics of grammar, this is not always the case. Despite the lack of recognition, grammar is a valuable skill in any content area and throughout life regardless of ambition. This research analyzed how differing instructional methods may influence students’ perception, and ultimately the receptiveness to learning. As successful as traditional grammar teaching may be to some, other students may benefit from more modern authentic learning techniques.
